Berkeley Marina (plein air)

I struggled with this painting from value study to painting. The scene was busy and I really wasn't very successful in narrowing my view. I just concentrated on getting the shapes not the overall boats. It was beautiful outside and I appreciated being out in it..

Hi Donna,

It was a beautiful day and am delighted you could capture the lovely yet "busy" scene.

Next, your audience clammors for the painting that reminded me of Japanese classical drawing. Know the one? With the orange/red flowers?

I am always in awe of how quick you can capture essence.
