Flower Interior

Back to pastel for a bit with the florals. This one is yet another flower that I can't identify. Believe it or not I think I took botany in high school or maybe biology II.

Yellow Unknown Flower

Playing with pastels again. This flower is from the Fort Bragg, CA botanical garden. I have yet to document the names. Maybe this year I will write the names down.

The Tease (renamed)

I saw this movement during a music festival. I decided to rename it as the other name was a little provocative. 12 by 12 inches on Fluid watercolor paper. I think I was able to portray the predatory looks directed at the tease..

Justin of Justif

This is musician Justin of the duo Justif. They play at most of our receptions at Austin Art Space. When I have my camera I tend to get shots of them grooving.

The first small study for the looking down on the ocean series. I worked on the larger piece again last night. I decided not to add the lavendar in the larger version. Im working with various values of green.

From the Pier II study

This is a study for a series of paintings based upon looking down to the surface of the ocean. I took this shot from the pier in Pacifica, CA. That place always has great waves and surfers. The larger painting is on Masa paper that has been crinkled and gessoed.

Too Young for Reflection

This young man was standing next to me on the pier in Pacifica, CA. My initial thought was that he was too young to be so deep in thought. Maybe he was just enjoying the ocean like me.

Eggplant and Lemon Fini

I went back in and played with the yellows on the lemon as I felt the yellows needed to be bumped up a little. I also added a little reflection on the eggplant.
