This was the very first butoh painting. Im trying to avoid changing it. This was the first impression.

The key to getting anything down when they were dancing was to take a mental snapshot get it down and move on to the next painting.

The group painted butoh dancers.

This was an underpainting for an oil painting I just recently finished. Maybe I should have left it alone. The oil painting has a different feel.

I worked on this piece many days after painting it. It was worth playing with again. Its rather fluid.

Menace

This is one of my Butoh dance paintings. The models moved for the most part. So a lot of these pieces arent defined. Maybe that was the point of it.

I used sketches of this model to complete this piece. I like the unease and tension in the background.

Last Pose and Roz rather Blue

This painting was done from a 2 minute sketch I was able to complete at the very end.

The model was tired and so was I. This pose was fun for both model and artists.
