Flow

Narrow I Know

This is a painting done from a sketch. I know the waist is too narrow but for some reason it works for me. The artist lurking behind the easel was added to keep back and forth action going in the piece. The blue and orange compliments add energy.

Proud

I will be painting on this more.

Approaching Light

I
I used the minimum brushstrokes with this piece. I had to finish in 3 minutes. I like the value scale and theme. You can guess the theme.

Thinking Man

I was asked to add an anchor to this painting. My initial thougt was to leave the white background. I added the line near the wrist after. Im still tempted to work on it but I should probably step away from it and leave it fresh.

Sorrow is Full

I liked the concept "sorrow is full". This model always adds a dramatic aspect to the pose...something thoughtful.

In Pink

I continued to work on this piece after the group met. This model had very nice elegant features. When she took her hair down, a completly new concept flew into my mind about how to paint her.

Struggle

It was a struggle for the model to hold this pose and for me to paint.

Deep Thought

I like the value scale in this painting. The darks and the lights work well.

Stern Look

This was done from one of the paintings done with the group. I always struggle to get the entire body onto the paper.

From The Back

This model loves to challenge us. His poses are always interesting. He also has good lines. One of my favorites.

Complex Lines

On this night the models were vicious with their poses. They were not easy.

Resting Place

This model always challenges you. His poses are complex and the lines always flow with him. I first noticed a lot of my linear work with him. The line describes him well.

Roz

This model had complex hair and body markings. I focused on the lines of her body and not the lines added after birth. Not from America so she had a great sense of womanhood.

Wide Open Hands

The hands were difficult. I can't seem to place the entire body on a piece of paper. That's my next goal head to toe in each painting.

Hidden

I have worked with this model before with photography. It was fun getting to paint her. Good soul.

Red Head

The hair was a definte challenge for me. Plus she was small in stature.

Attention

My first painting of the session is usually the best...in some circles. This painting was taken away from me by the group leader. As if to say: step away from the painting. It was fun to paint.
