Night Lights
This is a scene from my home town. During one of my recent visits I drew the back of the restaurant in front of the hotel. I was of course attracted to the light and dark patterns made my mother nature and by man. I used my Daniel Smith palette of watercolors on watercolor paper.

Someones Porch
On Thanksgiving night I was standing outside getting some air and noticed how beautiful the light was. I took a photo and painted this painting. I love how Commerce smells like the earth.

Richmond Nocturne 1
After a long day of painting outside in Pam's garden, I painted this nighttime picture from her kitchen. I would cut the lights out, memorize and then paint. I had a few copper panels in my paint box so that was my surface. I hadn't worked in oils for a while. I should do more plein air oil painting. I work quicker outside using watercolor and pastel. Plus the cleanup is much simpler in my opinion.
