Collard Greens

This image was born while I was washing collard greens. I thought why not make an image of what I was looking at. I took a few photos and this is the first of a series of collard greens inspired paintings.

Cat Perch

A little color study for a larger piece. I was free with my color choices on this one and I think it turned out nice. I used a black 6 by 6 Artist tile.

Sunset Colors 1

We were in Fort Bragg, CA for the new year. It was great. I got in a lot of painting relaxing and ocean gazing. I of course got in many paintings of the ocean at sunset.

Serene Sunset Study

I did a little study for Serene Sunset on the prepared surface I made. I like the way the ridges add surface texture.

Kiss The Sky 2

Another exploration study for a larger sunset painting.

Kiss The Sky

I'm still doing studies for a larger painting. This is a portion of the sky that will appear in the larger painting. Even with photos you can see so many colors in the clouds. I'm working on the smooth side of Canson paper in this one.
