Downtown Bay Windows

This is another building scene I forced myself to tackle. I'm am trying to get better with composition and perspective. I started out in ink and finished with Daniel Smith watercolors. I think this is a scene near Copley Square in Boston, Massachusetts.

Food Not For Thought

I'm going through old paintings and getting them into storage. I reworked this one a little. The original final version was too fractured for me so I went back into it to unify some shapes. I like this version better. The scene is in Boston, MA downtown near Government Center. I love my time in New England. It was a good time.

A Little Elegance

I saw this lady walking around downtown Boston. What struck me about her was the bright red outfit and the one flower sticking out of her bag.

Protest Prep Sketch

This is a practice sketch for a larger set of paintings. It's set in Boston, MA. The police were readying themselves for yet another protest march against our ongoing wars. I will work in both pastel and watercolor for this image. I took this photo just before the marching began. In the actual image the dominant color is the canary yellow of the police vests.

Retail Sp

This is part of my Boston cityscape series. We were in the Chinatown area. My focus in shooting during that trip was on the solitary person in a big city. I may tool with it a little more.
