Along the Pier

An interesting man strolling along the seawall. This is the initial watercolor study. Pastels come to mind with this one. The tilt of his shoulders and the fact that he wore two different colored gloves attracted me to him.

From the Pier 1

The larger painting on gessoed Masa paper. Its in the speculative stage. I may just leave this one be. For those who haven't been folling, this is a painting of a section of the ocean as seen from the pier.

Too Young for Reflection

This young man was standing next to me on the pier in Pacifica, CA. My initial thought was that he was too young to be so deep in thought. Maybe he was just enjoying the ocean like me.

Lone Tree

This one I started outside with the initial lines being made with Copic markers. I completed a value study on site and added the watercolor later at home. This is a scene across from the fishing pier in Pacifica, CA. That tree has always caught my eye,
