Inlet Near Bay Bridge

I spent some quality time with Pam for the New Year. We stayed close to home and I got to explore and paint around Point Richmond. I am always amazed at the things right in the backyard like Point Richmond. Point Richmond is a working harbor area plus a nice chunk of scenery. I painted this scene the last morning of painting. I haven't worked in acrylic in a while so I consider this a warm up piece. Pam pointed this inlet out the second day of painting.

Storm 1

This is the first painting after completing a value study and two color studies. I used Uart 800 grit paper. The next painting has a watercolor underpainting using complimentary colors. Scenery is Fort Davis, Texas area. I need to go back there for a painting holiday.

Plein Air Upgrade III

The third in the series of ocean sunset paintings.. The original is 5 by 7 inches and painted oil on copper. This is 20 by 24 inches. I think this set of paintings would make a great triptych. I wasn't really married to the colors used in the study.

Rock Steady in Progress

This where I am with this one. Its fun and a real challenge to get the look of water flowing as you look down on it. I should be finished soon because these can easily be over worked.

Tonita SF

This is the study for "Out for More". After taking the photo of this piece I noticed an area that needs a little paint. I will post the finished version soon.
