Last Haul Of The Day 1

I can recall the moment and feel of this little painting. We were sitting on our hotel balcony. The fog was rolling back in and this vessel was heading in to Noyo Harbor. I love this little town of Fort Bragg, California. It has so many spots of awe.

Gulls and Surf 2

I used one of my plein air sketches as inspiration for this painting. I liked the seagulls and of course the waves. I experimented a bit with color temperature in this version.

Birds of a Feather

While painting I saw these seagulls sitting together on one of the large rocks. I did a quick value sketch and a small watercolor before moving on to other subject matter. I was attracted to the back lit birds.

I love the fog and how it gives everything mystery.

This guy was hanging out at the marina. Clearly on the hunt for food. 5 by 7 inches.
